Income Tax Bar presents award to SHC CJ

The Income Tax Bar Association Karachi on Saturday awarded its first ever pride of performance award to Chief Justice, High Court of Sindh (SHC), Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of the body.
The award was presented to Justice Sabihuddin at a Golden Jubilee ceremony hosted by Executive Committee of the Bar at a hotel here.
Delivering welcome address, President of Income Tax Bar Karachi, Munawwar Hussain Shaikh said the Bar was formed in 1956 with 72 members and after completion of 50 years, it had a strength of about 1,400 members comprising prominent lawyers and tax consultants of the country.
He also expressed his gratitude to Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed for his presence on the occasion and said this was the second time in the history of the body that a CJ of SHC had honoured a ceremony of the Bar.
Later, CJ Sabihuddin Ahmed and IT Bar's Munawwar H Shaikh jointly presented souvenirs to former presidents of the Bar to honour them on Golden Jubilee of the Bar.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed expressed heartiest pleasure on receiving the award.
Among other notables, Senior Puisne Judge of SHC, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, serving and retired judges of SHC and prominent lawyers of the country, Advocate General Sindh, Anwer Mansoor Khan and President Supreme Court Bar Association, Advocate Munir Ahmed Malik were also present.
