We admire the Aaj team

Democracy: The word really pinches my mind, when I see our own government not executing it practically. Some of us might think of my standpoint as biased. Nevertheless, let me bring on the truth before them, that freedom of speech is the basic attribute of a democratic society.
But here, it is so poignant to believe that people are deprived of this very element. The issuance of show-cause notice by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), to a private TV channel of Pakistan, Aaj TV, for making people aware of the ongoing judicial crises through their various programs, is one of the on hand examples. Bringing forth the rights of the common people, they should be aware of the issues that take place at least within their own homeland.
Yet, they are compelled to believe whatever their government portrays without a slight tinge of the actual scenario. The action that Pemra has taken is merely an attempt to put pressure on the press. Mr. Malik Wazir Mohammad, the president of the Divisional Union of Journalists has rightly stated that no democratic policy can flourish through curtailing the freedom of information and of news media.
I would like to congratulate the Aaj team, on behalf of the whole nation, for unveiling the real picture before us without being under pressure by any threat. We, as well, condemn the Pemra's action, and look forward to get updated by the channel, on every issue in the near future.
