Brazilian coffee areas will have warm, dry weather over the weekend, aiding maturing of the new crop and early harvesting, private weather service Somar said on Friday. Somar said in a daily report that a mass of hot air would hang over the coffee belt until Tuesday, when a cold front would move north in Parana and bring rain.
In its 10-days outlook, Somar said the new cold front would head into the Atlantic Ocean between May 9 and 13, after generating some light showers in forested coffee areas. Forested coffee areas had above average rainfall in April, but the important south Minas and Minas Cerrado regions had about 30 percent and 60 percent less rain than usual.
