Traders vow to defy new power schedule

Traders on Sunday vowed to defy government's decision to close shops in the city by 8pm and decided to continue their business till 9pm. The decision was taken at a meeting of Alliance of Market Associations (AMS) presided over by alliance's Chairman Ateeq Mir.
The meeting was attended by over 300 representatives of markets, a release said on Sunday. The alliance said that decision of the government about closure of shops was unjustified and not acceptable to them. "If any government organisation intervenes into their affairs they will offer stiff resistance the responsibility of which will lie on it", the alliance warned.
