Egypt's Alcotexa sells 1,029 tonnes cotton in week

The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it had committed to sell 1,029 tonnes of cotton in the week ended May 5. An Alcotexa official broke down the sales as 21 tonnes of Giza 45, 21 tonnes of Giza 70, 622 tonnes of Gaza 88 and 365 tonnes of Giza 86.
The new commitment brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the season, which began in September, to 62,043.8 tonnes of cotton worth $153.9 million, the official added.
