PBC condemns sealing of SCBA president office

Pakistan Bar Council on Wednesday condemned the sealing of the office of Muneer A. Malik President, Supreme Court Bar Association in Karachi by the Karachi Building Control Authority.
In a statement the office-bearers of Pakistan Bar Council including Mirza Aziz Akbar Baig, Vice Chairman, Qazi Muhammad Anwar, Chairman Executive Committee and Hamid Khan, Syed Qalb-e-Hassan, Rasheed A. Razvi, Muhammad Yousaf Laghari, Imdad A. Awan and Muhammad Kazim Khan, Members of the Pakistan Bar Council, strongly condemned the sealing of office of Muneer A. Malik and said the action was taken on the government behest. They termed it a coward attempt of the government to harass and threaten the lawyers and their leadership for their role and struggle they have waged for independence of judiciary and the rule of law.
They pledged that they are ready for any sacrifice for much greater cause of independence of judiciary and the rule of law. The lawyers vowed to continue their ongoing movement for independence of judiciary and the rule of law more vigorously, they added.
They warned the government not to disrupt the lawyer's movement and must immediately withdraw the mala fide reference against the Chief Justice of Pakistan to save the judiciary for the sake and larger interest of the country.
