City District Government Rawalpindi has stressed on the city business community to close their business centres and markets at 8 pm to overcome prevailing power shortage in the country. Talking to a delegation of businessmen and traders here District Nazim, Raja Javed Ikhlas urged on them to follow the orders in the national interest.
The decision was not taken to harm business community but to facilitate all the people of the country, he added. Ikhlas appealed to the business community to support the local governments in implementing the orders and close their business activities on given time.
The businessmen on the occasion requested the District Nazim to help them get an extension for one-hour to run their businesses. They were of the opinion that people usually prefer shopping in the night during summer season, so closing their shops earlier would affect their business.
