MMA urges Karachiites to give Chief Justice historic reception

Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal chief and Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed and the opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman appealed to Karachiites to declare indifference to anti-nation and anti-Islam acts of rulers by according a historic welcome to the Chief Justice of Pakistan on Saturday.
In a joint statement on Friday, they said historic welcome of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry would prove to be a referendum against illegal and unconstitutional steps of the military rulers and their allies. They noted that people of Karachi have always played important and positive role in national politics that had its impact on the whole of the country.
The MMA leaders said that people who were creating tension on May 12 and doing political jugglery would flop. People would not let those trying to conceal the government's failures, they added.
They hoped public to welcome CJP would flood streets of the metropolis. They said that unprecedented reception of Chief Justice would also expose rulers' popularity proving that there was no room for people playing with the constitution and ruining national institutions.
