PML and coalition partners to contest polls from one platform: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday said the PML and its coalition partners will contest the elections from one platform and will win on the basis of their performance. The Prime Minister was talking to Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Muhammad Yousuf, who called on him here on Monday.
The Prime Minister appreciated the increase in the membership of PML in Balochistan and said that development of the province during the last eight years has increased the popularity of party in the province. He said the Muslim League led the struggle for Pakistan. "Today it is working for unity and development of Pakistan and tomorrow it will take the country to new heights", he added. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan was achieved after innumerable sacrifices made by our forefathers. "Its defence is our duty and we will perform our duty with full dedication", he added.
He said presently 138 development projects costing more than Rs 54 billion are being implemented in the province which is the manifestation of the government's commitment to bring Balochistan at par with other developed areas of the country.
The government, he said, is paying special attention to Balochistan to make up for the past neglect of the province by successive governments. The Prime Minister said the government is focusing both on the mega projects as well as small development projects to transfer the benefits of economic growth to the masses.
The completion of mega and the small development projects, he said would completely transform the economic and social landscape of the province. The Prime Minister said after the completion of Gwadar Port the government is now undertaking the construction of the fourth port of Pakistan at Sonmiani, which would be developed as a port city bearing the name Alladin Cove.
In addition to being a port the new city would be a tourist resort and an industrial hub and will open new vistas of economic opportunities and create thousands of jobs, which would benefit not only Balochistan but also the entire country, he said.
The Chief Minister Balochistan updated the Prime Minister on the implementation status of Mirani Dam, Subakzai Dam, Kachhi Canal, RBOD-III, Quetta Water Supply and Environmental Improvement Projects, Kohlu Development Packages and other projects.
He briefed the Prime Minister about the enrolment of PML in Balochistan and said as a result of the government's focus on Balochistan, the fate of the province is changing, the popularity of PML in the province is on the rise and the party is expanding.
