MMA takes out rally against Karachi carnage

A big protest rally to condemn the Karachi incident was taken out here on Monday under the auspices of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA). MMA leaders including, Dr Muhammad Kamal, Hanif Abbasi, Dr Hafiz-ur-Rehman, Abdul Majeed Hazarvi, Jehangir Naqshbandi and others led the rally while leader of PML-N, Sardar Muhammad Nasim and Faisal Pirzada of Tehrik-e-Insaaf also joined them.
The rally started from the Fwarda Chowk and participants were carrying flags of JI inscribed with slogans against the MQM and in favour of electronic and print media and asked the freedom of the judiciary.
The protestors marched in Raja Bazaar, Trunk Bazaar, Liaquat road, Moti Bazaar and Bohar Bazaar. The rally participants were chanting slogans like, "America ka jo yar hai who umat ka ghadar hai, girti hui diwaron ko aik Dhaka aur do, qatloon ke sarprast naam nihad haqprast, sahafioon se badslooki namanzoor". Speaking on the occasion, speakers demanded the President Musharraf to tender resignations from the both posts.
They said an impartial caretaker government should be established and transparent, free and fair must be hold. They asked the government to impose ban on the MQM and cases must be registered against Altaf Hussain and the Sindh governor for killings in Karachi.
They said constitution, judiciary and supremacy of Parliament must be ensured. Dr Kamal in his address said that workers offering life sacrifices have enliven the movement of Islamic revolution.
Hanif Abbasi said that central government was patronising the MQM. Abdul Majid Hazarvi said we would promote the culture of martyrdom and to bring the Islamic revolution, life sacrifices would be offered. Faisal Pirzadar assured complete co-operation towards his party and said that for the restoration of democracy, they would continue struggle.
