President Pervez Musharraf has underlined the need of positive approach to resolve conflicts facing the Muslim world. The President was talking to Foreign Minister of Syrian Arab Republic Walid Al-Moualem, who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar was also present on the occasion. The Syrian Foreign Minister is currently visiting Pakistan to participate in the 34th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) and, thereafter on a two-day bilateral visit.
The Syrian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and warm personal regards of Syrian President Bashr-ul-Asad, which the President reciprocated. The President and the Foreign Minister discussed matters of bilateral, regional and international importance.
On the bilateral front, the present level of Pakistan - Syria relations in various fields including political, trade and economic matters and the need to further strengthen these relations also came under discussion.
