Grain markets of 18 Punjab cities to be relocated

Punjab Minister for Agricultural Marketing, Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi has said that the department has decided to shift fruit and grain markets of 18 cities away from the residential areas as citizens are facing problems due to these markets in thickly populated areas.
He stated this while talking to a delegation of farmers on Thursday. Chaudhry Akbar Ali led the delegation, said a spokesman of the department. He pointed out that markets of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Okara, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Bhalwal, Talla Gang, Bhera, Bhakkar, Sheikhupura, Sillanwali, Malka Hans, Allahabad, Chak Jhumra, Bonga Hayyat and Chak Madrasa would be shifted out of the populated areas.
Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi said that financial help would be sought from provincial fund board for shifting of these grain markets. He said that a new law was also being enacted to develop the system of these markets on modern basis.
