PML-Q women workers urged to strengthen party

President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Women Wing Shahanah Farooqi has stressed upon the party workers to shun their diminutive differences and work collectively for the strengthening of PML-Q on top priority basis.
Addressing a big women convention of PML-Q women wing here on Saturday she added that at this juncture the unity among the party workers had become more imperative for escalation of the PML-Q as well as strengthening the hands of President Pervez Musharraf.
The PML government had taken far-reaching steps for the welfare of womenfolk including the passage of women's protection act, which is bold step towards equality and its credit goes to President Pervez Musharraf, she added.
Shahanah Farooqi further stated that government had laid special emphasis on the rights of women in accordance with Islam and Shariah. She said that country couldn't attain progress fully if half of its population is not ensured equal status and present government had initiated actions aimed at ensuring equal status for the women in the society as well as to bring them into the mainstream of the national activities in the country.
The PML-Q women wing had accorded special attention in organising the party at union council level in Punjab aimed at strengthening the party at gross root level, she added.
The president PML-Q women wing called upon the women workers that they should spread the massage of Pakistan Muslim League in every nook and corner in their respective areas for intensification of the party and ensures the continuity of development process in the country initiated by the government.
Addressing the convention, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare and President PML-Q Women Wing Sialkot District Shehla Butt said that membership of the party had been accomplished in Sialkot district and extraordinary efforts were being made for organising the PML-Q at union council level in the area.
Speaking on the occasion Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Division Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that government had practically done a lot for the cause of the women in the country and that its approach was not confined to mere lip service or slogans, as had been the case in the past. The present government had taken numerous steps for the betterment of women folk and to involve them into national activities in the country, she added.
Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema speaking on the occasion congratulated the PML-Q women for organising successful convention in Sialkot district. Akmal Cheema assured the women that district government would extend its all-possible support to women representatives of district assembly for the completion of their projects on top priority basis.
Speaking on the occasion Tehsil Nazim Sialkot Imtiaz-ud-Dar appealed to the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Q that they should try to address in time and it had been observed that party leaders were ignoring the importance of time as a result of which the people was facing serious hardships and mostly the leaders arrived in public meetings three hours late as against the fixed time.
On this special Dua was offered for the wife of Speaker National Assembly Choudary Amir Hussain. The women on this occasion pledged to follow the footprints of Miss Fatima Jinnah and work for the solidarity of Pakistan and Pakistan Muslim League-Q with missionary zeal.
