Two-day camp for selecting athletics at Sindh University

Centre for Health & Physical Education, the University of Sindh Jamshoro, has organised two-week refresher course and training camp for the identification of talent in the field of Athletics in Pakistan in collaboration with Olympic confederation of Germany and Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.
The opening ceremony of 'International Refresher Course and Training Camp on Science of Track & Field' was held at the Centre For Health & Physical Education, University of Sindh Jamshoro.
The ceremony was started with the recitation of the Holy Qura'an. Detlef Kuster, Consul trade and Economy, Consulate of Germany, Karachi was the chief guest of the occasion.
Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, the vice-chancellor, University of Sindh Jamshoro presided over the session. Dr Winfried Spanaus, the German expert on Track & Field was also present as a guest of honour. Professor Dr Yasmeen Iqbal, the organising secretary presented the welcome address.
The vice-chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui appreciated and thanks the German Govt and Olympic confederation of Germany for sending an expert on the subjected course. He also thanked Dr Winfried Spanaus and said that this was the start of new era for athletics in Pakistan.
These courses will help improve bilateral relationships between Pakistan and Germany in future, he added.
He also appreciated the efforts of organisers on organising such a marvellous course. The chief guest Detlef Kuster, Consul trade and Economy, Consulate of Germany, Karachi promised that their government will keep helping the university wherever their assistance and collaboration is required.
He also thanked the vice-chancellor on inviting him in such a course and making relationship with his country. Dr Winfried Spanaus, World record holder in long distance running & specialist of track & field, thanks the Worthy vice-chancellor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro and Professor Dr Yasmeen Iqbal, Organising Secretary of the course for inviting him in Pakistan. He said; "It's my first experience to visit the Pakistan, I feel very comfortable, friendly atmosphere and I am also enjoying the weather."
He also said that he was also looking forward to improve the performance of the athletes and hoped that the students in future would be capable to take part at the national and international level.
He will conduct the training camp in two session, Morning and Evening where the 100 Athletes from various universities & departments of Pakistan are participating.
The refresher will be conducted in between the camp Time ie from 9.00 to 12.00 in which the officials of the various universities of Pakistan are participating.
