Woman rights activist's mother passes away

The widow of a notable of Jallala (Mardan) Haji Mohammad Sultan Sikander Ahmad died here on Wednesday morning after a brief illness. The funeral prayers were offered, the same day and she was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard in Jallala.
The people from various walks of life, comprising relatives, well-wishers, government officials and politicians attended the last funeral rites of the deceased who was in her early 60s. She was the mother of Habib Ahmad, Regional Coordinator, Aurat Foundation, Peshawar, Khursheed Ahmad, Muneer Ahmad (government contractors), sister of Mohammad Qayyum of Fazal Abad, mother-in-law of Zahid Noor and Major Faheem.
Meanwhile, the Alliance for Protection of Human Rights (APHR), a group of rights-based organisations in Peshawar, has condoled the death. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the rights workers prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.-PR
