PML-N to observe Yaum-e-Takbeer on May 28

24 May, 2007

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will observe Yaum-e-Takbeer on May 28, the day Pakistan became a nuclear power under the leadership of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif 'in a befitting manner' said Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan MNA here on Wednesday.
He said that as per instructions of Mian Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N provincial leadership made the decision at a party meeting presided over by Provincial President Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khosa. The PML-N will hold rallies in all the districts of the province to commemorate the day. He said that May 28 was a historic day for the country and "nobody can forget it as Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear force despite enormous foreign pressure".
Rana regretted that Dr Qadeer, "who became a hero for giving a nuclear bomb, was imprisoned, while Nawaz Sharif, the other hero who decided to explode the nuclear device, was exiled."
Top PML-N leaders held President Pervez Musharraf responsible for the Karachi carnage, and said suicide bombings were taking place due to flawed domestic and foreign policies. The leadership includes Allah Nawaz Khan Duranni, District President, Rana Noor-ul-Hassan City President, Nafees Ahmed Ansari, MPA, Rana Mehboob Alam Advocate, ex-Senator Rafiq Rajwana, Bilal Butt. They also said that President Musharraf should admit he was a failure and therefore resign.
They said that Nawaz would return to the country within a few months and directed party workers to start preparing for the coming general elections, which he said could take place any time.
