"Elimination of poverty is the top priority of the present government and all out efforts are being made for the well being of people". Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Mian Khadim Hussain Wattoo made this observation while addressing an open court here at PML House on Wednesday.
The minister listened to public complaints and ordered redressal of the same. About 12 complaints relate to Zakat and Ushr Department. While issuing on the spot orders, the minister allowed financial help worth Rs 35,000 to seven Mustahqeen @ Rs 5,000 each and Rs 50,000 in the head of marriage grant for five Mustahqeen @ Rs 10,000 each.
Khadim Hussain Wattoo said that holding of open courts on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, is a great endeavour of the present government.
"My doors are open to the Mustahqeen round the clock", he added. He said that the government was determined to provide help to the people at their doorsteps and holding of open courts is an attempt in this regard. The minister took notice of those officers who did not attend the open court and warned them to ensure their presence in future.
