Ukraine invited to explore oil and gas potential

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon on Friday invited Ukraine to take advantage of attractive and investment friendly policies in the oil and gas sectors and cooperate in the upcoming projects of construction of oil and gas transitional pipelines.
Jadoon, currently on an official visit to Ukraine on the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart, Minister for Fuel and Energy, Boyko Yuriy Anatoliyovych, held negotiations with him in Kiev. Both the ministers were assisted by their respective delegations of senior officials also discussed mutual vistas of cooperation in oil, gas and mineral exploration sectors.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Ukraine, Ghazanfar Ali Khan was also present in the meeting, says a press release issued here. The minister emphasised the importance of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Ukraine in the oil, gas and mineral sector and referred to the meeting of the Prime Minister of Ukraine with the Prime Minister of Pakistan which took place in early 2007 in Devos in which Ukraine offered assistance in development of energy sector and mineral exploration sector of Pakistan.
Ukraine is endowed with lot of natural and mineral resources and has developed its mineral sector particularly coal mining and power generation on modern scientific lines. Besides coal mining and construction of coal fired power stations, Ukraine has the capability to construct and operate transnational oil and gas pipelines.
