CPGCL allowed 0.9 percent raise in tariff

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has allowed 0.9 percent increase per unit in generation tariff of Central Power Generation Company Limited (CPGCL) because of rise in gas prices. Adjustments have been made in the fuel part of energy charge subsequent to change in gas price occurring on February 2, 2007.
According to a notification, fuel cost has been revised to Rs 1.9712 from Rs 1.9537 per unit for Guddu thermal power station's block 1(units 11-13), followed by Rs 2.1901 from Rs 2.1707 for block II (5-10), by Rs 2.6281 from Rs 2.6048 for block III (3-4) and Rs 2.8158 from Rs 2.7908 (1-2) per unit for block IV, respectively. The new tariff would be implemented after the Ministry of Water and Power notifies it in the official gazette of Pakistan.
