Thirteen persons killed and two injured when some unknown gunmen attacked the house of Political Agent Khyber Agency at Jati area in district during the wee hours of Thursday.
According to District Nazim, Tank Riaz Kundi the assailants were armed with lethal weapons, attacked the native house of Political Agent, Khyber Agency Ameeruddin Khan Mehsud when his family and relatives were gathered to mourn the death of Damzaz Khan, elder brother of the PA Khyber.
The District Nazim said the fugitives entered the house of political agent early Thursday and opened indiscriminate fire, killing 13 people including Aurangzeb SDO brother of Ameerud Din Khan, his sister, Pir Arshad, Hassam-ud-Din son of Ghayas Ud Din and Rafiq Shah s/o Syed Aalm Shah. However, Political Agent was not present in the house. Shah Jehan son of Aurangzeb and Sohail son of late Damsaz Khan sustained injuries and were shifted to local hospital.
