The Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences expressed its gratitude to the Sindh government for authorising it to conduct its own degree awarding programmes. A graceful ceremony was held attended by the former students of the Government College for Commerce and Economics and luminaries of the city.
The chief guest Adil Sidiqui, Minister for Industries, Commerce, Transport, Labour and Co-operation appreciated the efforts of CIBES and expressed his happiness at this development.
Present on the occasion were leading personalities of the city like Majyd Aziz, President, KCCI, Siraj Teli of the SITE Association Industries, Ms Samina R. Khan, Dy Director, British Council, Iqbal Umer of the Cotton Exchange of Pakistan, Arshad Islam, Governor Lions, Feroze Qaiser, Special Assistant to former Prime Minister Z.A. Bhutto, Ahmed Chinoy, Assistant Chief CPLC, Irfan Nadeem, former Managing Trustee of Commecs Educational Trust and Commissioner Income Tax, Qaiser Mufti, former President of ICMAP and known industrialists Peer M. Diwan and Arif Habib, besides reputed academicians of the city.
A welcome address was presented by the Managing Trustee, Omar H. Karim, who conveyed the Commecs philosophy of bringing in a quantum change in the quality of education. The chief guest was appraised of the policies of admission and academic performance at the institute as well as the aspirations of the trustees, Managing Committee members and the faculty members of the Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences. Ahmed Chinoy, Asst. Chief, CPLC and others present also presented their views and thanked the chief guest for sparing time and extending support to CIBES.
The chief guest appreciated the positive contribution of the Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences to the educational standards prevalent in the city. He specially remarked that the policies of meritorious admission, continuous academic development and the aura of discipline that the institution exuded was an example for everyone to follow.
He said that he was happy to he associated with an institute which, in today's scenarios takes such pains to ensure quality assurance in every aspect of knowledge delivery and professional management. He assured all present that he would continue to be available for any help or support that CLBES may require in the future, as well.
At the close of the session the Chairman of the Academic Advisory Committee, Ahsan M. Saleem informed the chief guest and the guests that Commecs had taken up this task of providing quality education on a "not-for-profit" basis and was happy to inform that a large number of students were obtaining their education at a highly subsidized fee package since the motto of the institution was that no student shall be deprived of good education/admission due to his/her financial constraints. He closed the session by offering a vote of thanks to the Chief guest and all the guests who had assembled for this occasion.-PR
