'Nuclear status makes Pakistan undefeatable'

Professor Dr Muhammad Amjad Aoulakh of the Agriculture University, Faisalabad, has said the defence of Pakistan is un-defeatable after achieving the status of atomic power by our scientists and "now we are progressing towards the destination of food security and agricultural prosperity for the nation."
He was addressing as chief guest the participants of science quiz competition, organised by Quiz Club of the senior tutor here on Wednesday. Dr Amjad stressed the need for capacity enhancement in the field of science and technology to compete with the advanced countries' professionals. He added that science quiz was the source of brain storming for the students through which they could obtain knowledge and wisdom.
Associate senior tutor Professor Dr Anjum Sohail said the office of senior tutor was providing opportunities to the students in co-curricular activities. He highlighted the role of the senior tutor office in the promotion of creative activities.
Dr Tahir Siddiqui also spoke on the occasion and gave details of ongoing events organised by the office of the senior tutor. Students from various departments participated in the quiz competition and finally the team, Einstein, comprising Tanveer Ahmad, Basit Nazir and Nadeem Ali Khan got first position. Jabir Ibn Hayan team, comprising M. Kashif Hanif, M. Ahsan Asif and M. Asad, obtained second position, while Al-Beruni team, consisting of Amina Zia, Sameera Ather and Sabeen Aslam got third position.
Professor Dr Amjad distributed prizes and certificates to the main position-holders and participants of the competition. Quiz Club incharge Naveed Irshad thanked the guests and the students. A large number of students and faculty members attended the ceremony.
