02 Jun, 2007

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has condemned the restrictions imposed by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on media. While talking to newsmen here on Friday President bar Ehsan Bhon and Secretary Sarfraz Cheema termed the restrictions a direct attack on media.
They said that these restrictions on media have exposed the high claims of the government pertaining to the free media policy. They said government was never sincere in evolving a free and moderate society and added that claims of President Musharraf of enlightened moderate Islam are hollow slogans. They said if the government is true in its claims then it should allow the media to bring truth before the people of Pakistan.
