Political activists on study trip to Netherlands

A delegation of 13 political party activists left for a study tour to the Netherlands. The one-week visit is being organised by the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) with the support of the Government of the Netherlands.
The study trip is designed to facilitate exchanges between Pakistani and Dutch political parties on party organisation, communications, campaigns, membership recruitment, and fund-raising. The delegates, chosen from Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League-N, Pakistan Muslim League, Awami National Party and National Party, representing the women's and youth wings of their parties from all four provinces.
Their selection was made by NDI in consultation with the central leadership of each party and was based on their performance in NDI's current programs. The participants will visit the offices of major Dutch political parties, the Dutch Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study the Dutch political system, the functioning of political parties and the role of youth and women during their stay in The Hague and Amsterdam.
The participating parties in The Netherlands include The Labour Party (LP), Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), Peoples Party for Freedom and Democracy (PPFD) On their return to Pakistan the participants will explore the potential to incorporate their study trip experience into the action plans they are already implementing in their respective parties under NDI's current programs. The participants will be accompanied by NDI Program Managers Emil Atanasovski and Niaz Ahmed while NDI office in Brussels is co-ordinating the visit.
