Middle-order batsman Waqas Tariq hit brilliant century, as Apollo Sports outplayed Prince Cricket Club by 95 runs in a cricket match, here at Railway Allama Iqbal Institute Ground (formerly Carson Ground) on Tuesday.
Apollo piled up mammoth 375-7 in 35 overs with Waqas hitting 114. Later, Waqas was awarded man of the match prize by Apollo's life-skipper Illyas Mughal. Waqas was supported by seasoned campaigner Iqbal Zahoor (96), Salman Ali (49), Raza Khan (40) and Mohsin Anwar (20). Zulfiqar took 4-61 while Farhan (1-68), Fahdul Haq (1-68) were other wicket takers.
In reply, Prince Cricket Club were all out for 180. Fahadul Haq was top scorer with 60, with Zulfiqar 35, Saeed Khan 20, Umar Tanveer 30 chipped in with useful scores. For Apollo, the bowlers who were successful were Mohsin Anwar (4-52), Sohaib Ali (3-37), Raza Khan (2-17), Iqbal Zahoor (1-26).
