Japan buys 80,000 tonnes wheat

Japan's Agriculture Ministry said on Thursday it had bought a total of 80,000 tonnes of wheat from the United States and Canada at a weekly tender, but cancelled a wheat purchase from Australia due to high prices. All shipments are due to take place in August, a ministry official said.
The ministry was originally planning to buy 20,000 tonnes of Australian Standard White wheat at the tender.
