Wapda players gets cash prizes

A ceremony to distribute cash prizes amongst the Wapda players, who participated in national games in Karachi at April 9 to 14, was held here on Friday.
Fazal Ahmad Khan, Member (Power) Wapda was the chief guest on the occasion. He said that Wapda players should do maximum hard work in the field of sports to improve the image of the country. He said that present government had taken many steps to provide better facilities to the players throughout the country for the development of sports.
Earlier, General Manager (Administration) and Wapda Sports Board President Brigadier Najam-Ussaqib, apprising the audience of the performance of Wapda contingent, said that Wapda won 88 gold, 55 silver and 83 bronze medals in the 30th National Games.
Referring to the various sport facilities, including newly constructed state-of-the-art swimming pool in particular, Wapda sports Board Patron said that the service rendered by Wapda for developing sports infrastructure in Pakistan to yet another effort to lift the overall standards of games in the country. He vowed that the authority would continue patronising the players in the shape of their promotions and other incentives as per policy of the government.
Later, Fazal Ahmad Khan gave away cash prizes and commendation certificates amongst the players.
