The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) will generate Rs 44.425 billion through new taxation measures introduced in budget 2007-08. During the technical briefing arranged by the CBR on Saturday, Tax Policy and Reforms (TP&R) Member Habib Fakhruddin said the revenue measures would result in generation of Rs 44.425 billion in next fiscal year.
The relief measures would impact revenue loss of Rs 9.869 billion to the national exchequer. He said the net revenue increase in overall collection would be around Rs 34.556 billion as a result of taxation/relief measures announced in the new budget.
