Lahore still sizzles at 45oC

Despite drop in mercury by three degree centigrade, the provincial metropolis like other parts of the country remained in the grip of scorching hot weather on Monday. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Lahore was 48 degrees centigrade, which dropped to 45 degrees centigrade on Monday.
Weather remained oppressive for the Lahorites, who started raising voice over long hours of load-shedding. Children, women and labourers are worst affectees. According to sources in the local Met office, monsoon is not likely to set in before the last week of the current month. Hot and dry weather with chances of dust raising winds has been forecast for all other parts of the province during next 24 hours.
Patiddan was the hottest place in the county where mercury shot to 51.6oC, followed by Sibbi 50.7oC, Jacobabad 50 C Larkana 49.5oC, Rohri 49oC, Rahim Yar Khan 46.5oC, Mandi Bahauddin 45.5oC and Khanpur 45.3oC.
