PQATI not happy with budget

12 Jun, 2007

Port Qasim Association of Trade & Industry (PQATI) Chairman Naeem Ilyas Khanani said that federal budget proposals are politically motivated document focusing more on reduction in food inflation through expansion in Utility Stores network and not by improving the supply chain management of kitchen items, says a press release.
The budget lacks incentives or package aimed at cutting cost of production for the existing industries and also lacks measures to support the export trade and make it competitive in the global village. The standard sales tax rate was expected to be reduced from 15 to 12.5 percent, but nothing happened to this demand raised by different quarters of trade and industry bodies.-PR
