MQM files reference against Imran in National Assembly

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has filed a reference in the National Assembly to declare Imran Khan ineligible for Parliament membership. Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's disqualification has been sought under Article 62-63 of the Constitution, said MQM Deputy Parliamentary Leader Farooq Sattar.
While addressing a news conference here at Parliament Lodges along with Ports and Shipping Minister Babar Ghauri and MNA Haider Abbas Rizvi. Farooq Sattar said the reference filed with NA Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain under Article 62-63 of the Constitution was prepared under the rules of procedure Rule 16, Peoples Presentation Act Conduct of Rule-III.
He said the reference carried signatures of 19 MNAs, six Senators, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Sher Afgan Niazi. It was submitted in the reference that PTI chairman was not eligible for the National Assembly membership.
Giving details of the reference, he said it was prepared on the basis of Sita White case after thorough consultations with legal experts.
A case was filed against the PTI chairman in Los Angles court claiming that Terrain Jade, daughter of late White, is the daughter of Imran Khan. The suit was filed in 1997 and the court headed by Anthony Jones in its judgement had declared Khan as father of Terrain", they added. He said that Terrain's date of birth is June 15, 1992 and Sita White real name is Ana Luisa.
About the reference, they said that the Speaker is bound to forward it to the Election Commission of Pakistan within 30 days for taking a decision within 90 days.
