The present government has selflessly served the masses and instead of focusing on big cities only, the scope of developmental work has also been extended to backward areas. Punjab Minister for Public Health Engineering, Sardar Hassan Akhtar Moakal, stated this while talking to different delegations, here on Wednesday.
'There was not a single district in the Punjab province where water supply and drainage schemes had not yet been launched. Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is paying special attention to the uplift of social sector and during fiscal year 2006-07, Rs 6 billion were spent on water supply and sanitation', Moakal told the delegation. He said that 14 schemes of water supply, at a cost of Rs 71.597, have been started in Dera Ghazi Khan.
