Baloch Regiment gets new honorary colonel

Brigadier Syed Amjad Shabbir was installed as honorary Colonel of the Baloch Regiment popularly known as the 'Fateh-e-Wasir-e-Hind' at an impressive ceremony held here on Wednesday.
Lieutenant General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kyani who is also Colonel Commandant of Baloch Regiment and Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Shifaat Ullah Shah pinned the badges of rank onto the shoulders of the new honorary Colonel and presented him the Regimental Beret.
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kyani who was the chief guest on the occasion exhorted the officers and Jawans to work with relentless devotion to strengthen the national defence.
He advised them to strive even harder to acquire high degree of professionalism matured with strength of faith, which will enable them in acknowledging the outstanding services of the Battalion during the operations of testimony to the fact that they had always responded with agility and commitment to the call of duty and rendered supreme sacrifices for the integrity of the motherland.
Congratulating Brigadier Syed Amjad Shabbir on his appointment as honorary Colonel of the Battalion, the chief guest said he was an outstanding officer with vast experience. He hoped that under the able guidance of such experienced soldier, the battalion would achieve still new heights in the field of professional excellence.
