OIC role in resolving water issue termed vital

Abdul Rashid, an analyst has said that "International Donors' Conference on Consolidating Food Security", held in Niger will focus on key issues. Talking to a TV channel, he said the conference focuses on three key issues.
Programme for the reinforcement of the national food security stock, the Programme for Environmental Restoration through Rainwater Irrigation Works, and the Programme to combat food insecurity through irrigation development.
The total amount of funding required for the implementation of these programs has been estimated at $370 million over a period of five years. He appreciated the role of OIC in solving problems of Niger and Africa. These states decided to pool their resources together, combine their efforts and speak with one voice to safeguard the interest and ensure the progress and well being of their people and those of Muslims in the world over.
He lauded the efforts of President Musharraf for providing them every support, and this credit goes to Pakistan. He said, if every Islamic country reserved 1% of GDP for common food, the economy of Muslim Ummah would be mobilised.
