Illegal satellite TV, FM radios closed in AJK

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) in its drive closed down the transmission of a satellite TV and two FM radio stations being operated illegally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The action was initiated with the assistance of local administration and police officials, following innumerable public complaints of illegal broadcasts from residents of Dhir Kot and adjoining areas of AJ&K. Pemra enforcement team during its operation in the Sunghar Village, Dhirkot impounded the equipment of an unauthorised satellite TV station and sealed its premises.
The illegal satellite TV channel was also causing interruption to the regular transmission of PTV in the area, a press release said on Monday. In another operation Pemra enforcement team confiscated the broadcast gadgets of two unauthorised FM radios.
