Sultan seeks Kashmiris inclusion in Pak-India dialogue

Former prime minister Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and President Peoples Muslim League (PML), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that being the main stakeholders, Kashmiris must be included as the third party in the dialogue process.
Speaking at a news conference here on Monday, after recent visits of Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Belgium and other countries, he said basic purpose to visit these countries was to highlight the Kashmir issue at the international level.
He said it was necessary to tell the international community that there were three parties of Kashmir issue, Pakistan, India and Kashmiris. He said Kashmiris must be involved as the third party for resolution of Kashmir issue adding Kashmiris would not accept any solution of the Kashmir issue if they were not included as the third party in dialogue process.
Giving details regarding the visits he said he met with high-up of the US Congress and State Department. He said he also met with the Canadian Member Parliament and ministers. He also held talks with CEDA officials for rehabilitation of quake affectees in Azad Kashmir.
He asked the Civil Society of European Union to play its role in peace process. He added that it was a good omen that EU had expressed apprehension over human rights violation in occupied Kashmir. He was of the view that Britain could play an important role in the politics of South Asia adding because it was fully aware of our political environmental conditions.
Lauding the efforts of overseas Kashmiris for amendments in Emma Nicholson's report, he said Emma Nicholson's report passed on May 24 was totally different from the first adding in the report 'word', right of self-determination has also been included.
He said human rights violation in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) has also been discussed in the report. He hoped that new Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Brown would play a supportive role in the favour of Kashmiris. Anyhow, he urged on overseas Kashmiris to accelerate lobbying.
Barrister said that Kashmiris should be included in the peace process. He said the democratic institutions must be strengthened so that democracy could flourish. During visit to the Germany (Berlin), he said he informed the rest community about the Kashmiris viewpoint during the meetings. He proposed to hold intra-Kashmir dialogue.
About the party's activities, he said a convention was held in Britain and PML has organised in the 55 cities, which he added was a record in the AJK for any political party. Responding a question, he said we want to make efforts with the support of democratic powers of Pakistan. He said a democratic government could help to resolve Kashmir issue. To another question he said, a warm welcome would be accorded to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry during his visit to Rawlakot.
