A prominent freedom fighter in Indian held Kashmir has been shot dead in a gun-battle with police, officials said on Tuesday. Police identified him as Abu Furqan, a Pakistani national and member of the hard-line Lashkar-e-Taiba group.
He was killed along with two other suspected freedom fighters on late Tuesday, police official Ashiq Bukhari told reporters. "His death is a big blow to the group," he said. There was no immediate comment from Lashkar-e-Taiba.
