Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has decided to withdraw late payment surcharge against consumers in public sector. According to the decision, late payment surcharge levied on the electricity bills against the federal and provincial government departments including autonomous and local bodies under them, up to May 2007.
Due to non-payment or part payment of bills should be withdrawn subject to payment of all outstanding electricity dues by June 30, 2007. Meanwhile, all the distribution companies of Wapda have been directed to inform all public sector consumers accordingly to ensure the recovery of outstanding electricity dues before June 30.
