President and Prime Minister concerned over deaths, injuries in rainstorm

President General Pervez Musharraf while expressing his concern and grief over the deaths and injuries caused by rainstorm in Karachi has directed the provincial and city governments to take immediate steps to tackle the situation.
He said the relief and damage control efforts in the most affected areas should immediately be initiated and injured be provided best medical treatment. The President has also directed the federal government to provide every possible assistance to the provincial government and city administration in handling the situation. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday expressed his grief over the loss of life and injuries, caused by rainstorm in Karachi.
Talking to newsmen during his surprise visit to a utility store here at Bhara Kahu, the prime minister said, the provincial government and city administration have initiated the relief work and 'extra emergency' has been declared in the hospitals.
He said the relief efforts were being carried at a fast pace, with special relief camps established in most affected areas to tackle the situation. The prime minister said the federal government was in contact with the provincial government and city administration and will provide them every possible help and assistance to handle the situation.
