Punjab government has decided to expand emergency services at district and tehsil headquarter level and for this purpose a sum of Rs 5 billion has been set aside. The work on the project would soon be carried out in all districts of the Punjab.
Official sources said here Sunday the "Emergency Centre" is being set up at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore in Sialkot and it would be equipped with 10 ambulances and highly trained staff.
In order to provide improved and better health facilities to people Punjab government has expanded the network of most modern hospitals throughout the province. The government was also considering for setting up of "Cardiology Centres" in all mega cities for ensuring modern treatment facilities to the masses in their respective areas of the Punjab, sources added.
Similarly, necessary steps were being taken for the establishment of "Burn Units" in all district headquarters of the Punjab to provide immediate medical treatment to the patients at their doorsteps.
