Pakistan and Sudan have signed a three-year Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of art and culture.
The CEP was signed between two countries in a meeting with the visiting seven-member Sudanese delegation headed by Abd-Algadir Mohamed Zain, Sudanese Minister for Culture and Sports with Federal Minister for Culture Dr G G Jamal here today.
After the agreement, the two side held detailed discussions on the cultural richness of the countries and the delegation members expressed desire to have regular cultural exchanges by formalising CEP.
The CEP would provide an impetus to cultural ties between the two brotherly countries and enhance cooperation on archaeology and mosoulogy including exchange of publication and research papers.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of arts and culture including exchange of folk, traditional and musical cultural troupe. The CEP would also encourage the co-production of films by the two countries.
Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Salim Gul Shaikh signed the CEP on behalf of Pakistan while Daffa Alla Eihag Ali Osman, Sudanese Ambassador to Pakistan signed it on behalf of his country.
