Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Acting President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has awakened the whole nation which was lip-tightened and asleep for the last eight years and now freedom of judiciary will lead to the independence of other institutions.
He termed the struggle of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry an asset for the country since sovereignty of the country has become a story of the past. Javed Hashmi was talking to a delegation of his partymen comprising Rana Noor-ul-Hassan, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, MNA, Rana Mehboob Alam, Imtiaz Gulzar Chattan and Shaikh Amer Liaquat in the prison, Hashmi condemned killing of 33 innocent people in Waziristan in bombardment of allied forces and termed it a national tragedy.
He said it was the matter of shame for the rulers who have left the people on the mercy of foreign forces. Death of more than 230 people in Karachi due to rain was a great tragedy. He urged social and political workers to provide help to calamity-hit people of Karachi as the rulers have failed to help those people.
