Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on Monday expressed grave concern over the statement of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijaz-ul-Haq against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto describing it inherited enmity from his father General Zia-ul-Haq who hanged Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and ever expressed his hatred against Bhutto family.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Central Vice Chairman of PPP said, "Benazir is the most popular leader of the country who had rendered great sacrifices throughout her life for Pakistan and nobody can stop her from coming back to motherland".
He also criticised the suggestion of General Musharraf's advisors regarding postponement of the forthcoming elections. While expressing his extreme annoyance over the Ijaz-ul-Haq's statement against Benazir, Gilani said that we would not let him to say what he desires against the Party leadership and we would face him politically. Gilani said, "If PPP-P comes in power, then we will develop such a system that a common man can have an easy access to basic amenities of life."
To a question regarding the PPP-P leader's return to country, he said Benazir Bhutto would be in home the day elections' schedule announced.
