Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan in collaboration with NGO-Akhuwat will issue interest free loans under microfinance scheme to check poverty. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Foundation held under the chairmanship of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, here on Monday.
Among other Liaquat Balouch, Syed Ehsan Ullah Waqas, Syed Rashid Daud, Dr Amjad Saqib, Shahid Shamsi, Bashir Ahmad Arif, Dr Abdul Hafeez, Malik Naeem, Haji Aslam and others attended the meeting.
According to a spokesman of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, the meeting discussed matters concerning the increasing poverty in the country. Addressing the meeting, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, who is patron of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, stated that interest based economy had badly damaged the economy while poverty level has increased at an alarming ratio.
Due to unwise and anti-people policies of the government poor are becoming poorer while the rich are becoming richer, he said. Qazi called for laying the foundation of economy in the light of teachings of Holy Quran and Hadith. He stated that Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan in collaboration with Akhuwat would take pragmatic steps for poverty alleviation.
Under the micro credit scheme, Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and Akhuwat will issue interest free loans, which will help, alleviate poverty in the country, he said.
