Sindh Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani on Tuesday morning visited various areas of rain-hit city and asked the Relief Commissioner Sindh and relevant departments to provide relief to rain and cyclone affected people on priority basis.
He stressed that affected persons should be shifted from coastal and low-lying areas to safer places, while arrangements should be made to provide them with food, medicine and other required articles on emergency basis. He also reviewed redressal of complaints received in the rain monitoring and control room set up in his office.
He asked the Sindh finance secretary that no negligence should be tolerated in early help of the affected persons, as the government had already released necessary funds in this regard.
The chief secretary urged that services of army and Rangers should be sought where needed through the home department. He said that citizens visiting beaches should be politely asked not to visit these areas. He asked the health department to provide all-out medical assistance to the masses.
