Rain makes flood situation worse in NWFP

The flood situation became worse on Friday due to the continuous rain as Kabul, Gambila, Swat and Naguman rivers remained in extreme floods whereas flash floods have been reported in ravines and nallahs of district Peshawar, Nowshera, Bannu, Hazara and Malakand divisions.
According to the report of NWFP Flood Warning Centre (FWC), the water discharge in River Kabul at Sardaryab has been recorded at 48,547 cusecs, in river Swat at Munda H/W 43750, at Amandara 40,877 and at Khuzakhela 25,727 cusecs, in river Gambila at Gambila bridge 31,912 cusecs and at river Jundi at Charsadda 9,131 cusecs.
Moreover, medium floods with the water level on the rise have been reported in Swat river at Khiali where the water discharge has been recorded at 34,005 cusecs, in Panjkora river at Talash Dir 16,238 cusecs, in river Kunhar at Garhi Habibullah 8,144 cusecs and in Kurram river at Kurram Garhi water discharge remained 27,917 cusecs.
