Research in medical education stressed

College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has conducted a four-day workshop on 'Research Methodology, Biostatistics and Medical Writing' for supervisors at CPSP Regional Centre Lahore.
Medical teachers including Professor Muaz Ahmad, Dean of Preventive Medicines, KEMU, Professor Imtiaz Akhtar Bajwa, Professor Muhammad Mujeeb, Colonel Abdul Rafe, CMH Okara, Colonel Muhammad Nadeem Mirza, Dr Saira Saeed from CMH Bahawalnagar, Colonel Shujaat Abbas CMH Kharian, Colonel Shoaib Nayyar Hashmi, CMH Lahore, Dr Khawaja Khurshid Ahmad and Dr Tanveer Butt attended the workshop.
Dr N Rehan and Dr Rakhshanda Fareed who were the facilitators of the workshop discussed different methods of research, medical writing and bio-statistics. The participants also practised the same during the four days workshop.
Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, President, College of Physicians of Surgeons Pakistan, while chairing the concluding session, stressed upon the importance of research in medical education. 'The CPSP is providing the best possible facilities of training & research to the trainees and the supervisors. The training programme of the CPSP is structured and monitored while its research journal has attained an international status and repute', he added.
Professor Muhammad Amjad, Controller of Examination appreciated the efforts of Regional Director, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal for arranging the workshop for trainees and trainers and the provision of doctor's friendly environment at the regional centre.
