The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, and the Livestock and Dairy Development Board (LDDB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration to develop livestock sector in the country.
The LDDB is a government guaranteed company supported by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal) working for promotion of meat, milk, poultry and allied industries in the country.
UVAS vice-chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz and LDDB Chief Executive Dr Muhammad Afzal signed the MoU at a meeting in the university here on Saturday. Under the MoU, the UVAS and the LDDB agreed to share their human resources, training facilities and other R&D infrastructure for helping each other to achieve livestock development.
Similarly, if an organisation wants to utilise the expertise available with the other agency, the required staff will be allowed to work with the borrowing agency without compromising his work at the parent organisation. For training, research and use of other infrastructure, the borrower will pay the required fee and expenditure as mutually agreed upon between the authorities concerned. Initially, this MoU will be valid for a period of four years, but can be extended for another four years with mutual understanding.
