Heavy rainfall and flooding is expected to affect several parts of the country from Sunday to July 6 due to arrival of a new intense weather system in Pakistan, according to Chief Meteorologist of Flood Forecasting Division of Pakistan Meteorological Department Shaukat Ali Awan stated.
He said the coastal and southern parts of Sindh including Mitthi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Umarkot and Sanghar are likely to get more heavy rainfall from Tuesday while some coastal areas of Balochistan will also get rains from Wednesday.
He said some areas of the Punjab including Sialkot, Lahore, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar are expected to get heavy rains in coming days due to which the various nullahs running in these areas can get flash flooding.
Meanwhile, according to Flood Warning Centre Peshawar, River Kabul at Adezai Bridge and River Shah Alam at Tukhtabad are in very high flood.
River Kabul at Nowshera, River Naguman near Charsadda and River Swat at Khuza Khela are in high flood. River Swat at Munda Headworks and Amandara, River Gambila at Gambila, Panjkora River at Timergara, River Siren at Dhryal and River Kaitu at Spinwam are in low flood.
