Political rivalry is alleged blocking issuance of recommendatory visa letter to the partners of private sports manufacturing company in Sialkot. The firm - GMNA Sports (Mfg) Co - is to participate in the fair scheduled to be held in Germany this October but its partners have yet not been issued recommendatory visa letter by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot.
The GMNA Sports Mfg Co has approached the commerce ministry, seeking its help for issuance of the recommendatory visa letter by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot.
The letter has been written to the director trade organisation, ministry of commerce for his intervention. The GMNA Sports is registered with the Registrar of Firms since 1992 and is also a regular member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sialkot since 1992 whereas the partners of the firm have previously been participating in the different fairs held in USA and other countries.
Zeeshan Latif and Muhammad Rafique, partners of GMNA Sports Mfg Co have applied through Maqbool Ahmed, partner of the company. But the departmental committee of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot, on account of political rival groups, has refused to grant recommendatory visa letter, which would seriously damage the business progress of the company.
The letter says that TDA, Mediators Marketing of ISPO Karachi and Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association have issued recommendatory visa letters to the Embassy of Germany and GMNA company has also got the booking of stall no.61 in Block-B in ISPO, which is scheduled to be held on October 8, 2007.
Therefore, the firm has sought intervention by the commerce ministry to set-aside the order of the departmental committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sialkot and direct them to issue recommendatory visa letter to the partners of the firm.
